Pension increases: the 2025-2026 timetable you need to know

November 2025: Agirc-Arrco Supplementary Pension Increase
Starting November 1, 2025, nearly 14 million private-sector retirees will see their Agirc-Arrco supplementary pension increase.

The increase follows the inflation rate excluding tobacco published by INSEE (the French National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies), but with a 0.4 percentage point reduction to maintain the financial stability of the scheme. With inflation estimated at around 1%, the increase should be between 0.6% and 0.8%.

2026 Trends
In concrete terms, a supplementary pension of €1,300 per month will gain approximately €8 to €10 more, or between €95 and €125 per year. The first increased payment will be made on November 3, 2025. This increase is in addition to the one already applied in January 2025 to basic pensions (+2.2%).

2026: a year still uncertain
Several scenarios are circulating for 2026. Under the Bayrou government, a “blank year” was considered: no increase in basic pensions in order to save several billion euros.
Since the political transition, this idea has not been confirmed but remains a topic of discussion. If the current rule of indexing to inflation is maintained, a modest increase of approximately 1.2% could be applied in January 2026, with an effect on the February payment. The final decisions will be known in the fall of 2026, at the time of the vote on the budget and the Social Security financing law.
