Ingredients

  • 2 lbs Yukon Gold potatoes, thinly sliced

  • 2 tbsp butter

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 2 cups heavy cream

  • ½ cup milk

  • Salt & white pepper (or black)

  • 1 cup grated Gruyère or cheddar (optional but 🔥)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F / 190°C. Butter a baking dish.

  2. In a saucepan, heat butter, garlic, cream, milk, salt, and pepper (don’t boil).

  3. Layer potatoes in the dish, slightly overlapping.

  4. Pour cream mixture over potatoes. Add cheese if using.

  5. Cover with foil and bake 45 minutes.

  6. Uncover and bake 20–25 minutes until bubbly and golden.
