Even though we want to think our children are flawless, the reality is that none of them are perfect.
I’m not saying most moms and dads aren’t doing their best – they totally are! But growing up is tough, and pretty much everyone messes up and wishes they could do things differently.
Maybe the most important thing when stuff like that happens is not exactly what happened, but how the kid learns from it and keeps going.
That’s why we start teaching kids about punishment early on. If a kid does something wrong, they have to face the consequences. This helps them learn a lesson and, hopefully, they won’t make the same mistake again.
Punishments can be different, like getting a small consequence or something that the kid will remember for a long time.
